J. H. Performance Boats Inc.

Customer Comments
Word of mouth is the best selling tool a company can have.  Read below what some of our customers have to say about the finest fishing boat along the Gulf Coast.

Ralph Cox - Houston
I ordered my twenty three and a half foot JH Performance boat from John Holley when he first introduced them at the boat show in 2002. It was the 3rd boat he built and all my friends said I was nuts. They're all singing a different tune now. I had it rigged with a Yamaha 150 TRP and it is truly a great boat. I have a place in Seadrift and fish nearly every weekend work permitting. I make some long boat runs from Seadrift or Charlie's to Mesquite Bay or farther. I fish all the back lakes and never have a problem getting in and out. This is a dry smooth riding boat that you'll be glad your in if you have to cross big water. It's not the fastest boat on the Bay but it does everything I need it to do. Always demo any boat before you buy; I took myself and four big friends along with John Holley when I took his boat for a demo and it never flinched.

Capt. Leon Lemmons - Water Wolf Adventures/Rockport
I have operated a Model B235 JH Performance boat powered by a 140 hp Suzuki outboard since January of 2003 when I took possession of the boat following the Houston boat show. The boat is used to run fishing charters in connection with my business, Water Wolf Adventures. I hold a USCG Masters license and have operated many different types of vessels for over thirty-five years. I must have a dry, comfortable, safe, and dependable boat. Many of my clients are elderly people and are not up to nor want a wet or rough and tumble experience on the water.

I have never operated a boat that is any drier or softer riding for the size. I have crossed Mesquite Bay in an eighteen knot wind and everyone remained dry. The smooth dry ride and superb fish ability of the B235 has contributed to many repeat clients this year.  I listen to my clients and almost all of them comment on how dry and smooth the boat is.

As good as all of this is the boat must be seaworthy and safe. Four clients and I were caught in a freak storm this year which registered wind gusts in excess of seventy mph with blinding rain for over an hour. The boat came through without a hitch and no one on board ever felt that the boat was not seaworthy. It delivered us back to the dock as if nothing had
happened.

Thanks John, you have done a superb job.

John Blaha - Lake Jackson
I've watched John start this company from the ground up.  He's made a lot of tough decisions and he always seems to make the right one when comes to performance questions.  The B240 may not be the fastest or the skinniest, but it is as close to a perfect boat as I've been on.  I run a Yamaha 150 TRP on my 240 and I cruise 40 mph at 4100 to 4300 rpm depending on the load and generally top out at 43 to 45 mph.  I run from Corpus Christi to Port O'Connor and about the only places I can't go you need an airboat to feel comfortable.  I've watched him build the boats and he truly cares about what goes out of the shop.  Like we always say, pick the nastiest day you can and go for a ride... you'll be glad you did.

Capt. Bobby Gardner - South Paw Guide Service/Matagorda

Being a fishing guide offers a chance to ride and fish out of just about every kind of boat made.  Some boats go fast, some can run in very shallow water, some can ride very dry and still others offer a soft ride.  In most applications you will give up one to have the other.  J.H.Performance boats are the only boats I have run that offer all of the above.  The first test run John took me on, I was sold!  Remember when you buy your next boat, take all of them for a test ride.  I'm sure J.H.Performance will be at the top!

Rob Key - Danbury
I purchased my JH B-235 in May 2002 and I could not be happier.  I have looked at and ridden in many shallow water boats and the JH is the best hands down.  It handles very well and the ride is smooth and dry.  The JH comes rigged out nicely, so you don't have to chase down alot of  accessory items.  John Holly is all about service and quality and he will do what ever it takes to build you a quality boat.
